From Broken to Unstoppable:
My TBI Journey And How It Can Light Your Path Forward
30 Years Ago...
...my life changed in an instant.
A traumatic brain injury left me feeling lost, frustrated, and unsure if I’d ever feel like 'me' again. I struggled with:
The invisible battles (memory gaps, fatigue, feeling 'not enough')
The emotional toll (guilt, shame, isolation)
The fear that my best days were behind me...
But here’s the truth: My TBI didn’t break me, it revealed me.
Through faith, family, and relentless self-discovery, I uncovered tools to rebuild my confidence, redefine my purpose, and create a life filled with joy, peace, and unshakable strength: no matter what TBI threw my way.
Today...
...I’m not just a survivor—I’m a thriver, a wife of 27 years, a mom to three incredible young men, and a certified coach who’s helped hundreds of TBI survivors:
Silence self-doubt and reclaim their identity
Set meaningful goals (without overwhelm)
Wake up excited—not exhausted—by life again
I don’t just understand your struggle—I know the exact steps to help you rise above it.
My work...
...isn’t about ‘fixing’ you, because you’re not broken. It’s about:
Uncovering the strength TBI tried to hide
Rewriting the story from “survivor” to thriver
Giving you back the life you thought was lost
This is your time. Let’s build a future where your TBI is just one part of your story—not the whole book.
You are in good company
Janet was a guest on my podcast earlier this year.
We had discussed some issues I have when I am faced with too many decisions.
My brain tends to just freeze up and decides that there is too much to process. Janet suggested that I try using a breathing technique, clear my head and start with one step at a time. I gave this a try a few days later and this helped me to be able to make aligned choices with much better ease than I had before.
Taking a step back and just doing the simple breathing exercises was something so simple but effective
I'm nicer to myself, lots of self love, standing taller in confidence, more aware and concise of what I'm feeling and I ask myself why I'm feeling this way so I can work on the cause of the feelings. Its helping me with my stress levels so I'm less overwhelmed. I'm not holding back as much as I was. I'm realizing how much my negative self talk of not being enough has been holding me back. I think people see me a certain way when I don't know if it's even true so I've stayed to myself thinking they didn't want me around due to me being flawed. I'm having a lot of eye opening Ah Ha moments seeing where I've been pushing people away by doing that.
You’ve survived long enough. Now it’s time to thrive!
